With the PowerWave technology, Encana expects to add 10% of output from its estimated 1.4 billion barrels in place which at today’s prices is estimated at more than $10 billion annually.  Cost of implementing the PowerWave waterflooding EOR is just a fraction of CO2 injection systems which in the case of Weyburn required the construction of a $100 million pipeline to bring CO2 from North Dakota to the Weyburn mines. Roger Kazanowski is happy to note that Encana has signed a pre-commercialization deal with Wavefront.
